Welcome to AnAmericanSoldiers new and improved blog. I'm not sure how improved it will be but I'll probably start by posting some of my old content from xanga onto this one.
Oh that's great. I was a naval communicator in Canadian's Navy and I didn't even knew about that old phonetic alphabet! Is there an explanation as to why they changed it? Was it because it wasn't international at the time?
Yeh they changed it Bcos of coalition armies fighting in same theaters of operations. And the need for universal language of coded comonication. Some countries still use small differences like British army days hotel for h and I've heard yanks say helo.but I think but don't quote me think it all changed in Korea with a multi national force and there was no standard of phonetic
